We are back! It was a great, great trip but I have so many stories and so many pictures that I can't see straight so I have to put all that aside for a bit. My focus at this moment is further back in the past, exactly one year ago. One year ago today was the last day I was pregnant. One year ago today, I was still as big as a house, wondering what my baby was going to look like. And around this time of the evening one year ago, I was making a chocolate cake in my kitchen in Oakland. Then I went to bed. Woke up at 2 in the morning with contractions and a few short hours later we had a baby. When we brought her home the next day, Joe took the partially eaten chocolate cake and wrote "Happy Birthday Sody" on it. Her first birthday cake.
Tomorrow our little baby turns one. Unbelievable.
